Red was born in Wood County, Texas, to the late Oscar Jackson Robertson and Imogene Carr Robertson. He was an equipment operator for James Stringfella Logging for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Robertson; a brother, Tommy Robertson; and a sister, Mary Ann Brown.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Robertson, of San Antonio, and James Robertson, Jr., of Tyler; brothers, Gary Robertson, of Longview, William Jackie Robertson, of Gilmer, and Roger Robertson, of Big Sandy; sisters, Linda Pierce, of Big Sandy, Sandra Sharp, of Big Sandy, Debbie Stracener, Sharon Palmer, Janis Cooper and Francis Drennan, all of Gilmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
