"Emerick" appears to be the spelling kept by his descendants in British Columbia.

On March 7, 1874, Conrad Emerick is listed as a witness at the marriage of Louisa Emerick, age 16, to John Wren, age 37, in Nanaimo, BC.
Louisa lists her parents' names as "Nanaimo Indian" and "Catherine Emerick".
The other witness was John Kemp of Gabriola Island.
Louisa appears to die before 1879 because John Wren remarries that year -- cannot find Louisa's death.
