Steve lived his childhood years in Panama City, Florida and moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in his early adult years and resided there for the rest of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach. He worked as an electronics technician for a number of government contractors on Eglin Air Force Base for more than 30 years.
Steve's greatest love was his family. He expressed his love for his family and friends by his giving nature, especially coaching his daughters in all sports. He loved fishing and donated much time working on sound systems in local churches. Steve was an avid sports fan and known as a leading home run hitter for Pro Sports of the FWB City League in the late 1980's.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ray B. Harrison. He is survived by his wife Becky of thirty years and six daughters: Rae, Olivia Harris (Jon), Elizabeth, Melissa, Stephanie, Baylee and grandson Hayden; his mother, Doris Harrison, and sisters Deborah Gibbens (Gary) and Ginger Shirley (Gary); and beloved uncle and aunt, Dale and Kathy Naylor. Steve is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Friday, April 7th. Visitation will be from 10-11 am and Celebration of Life at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Kids Sports at First Baptist Church, 21 First Street, S.E., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548.
