Columbia, S.C. - Steven Elliott Wyatt passed away April 4, 2017 peacefully at his home with his wife by his side after a brief illness of leukemia. Steve was born in Gaffney S.C. on August 24, 1950 to the late Archie Elliott Wyatt and Olavine Nash Wyatt. He graduated from Gaffney High School 1968 where he played baseball and basketball. He received his BS degree in Education from the University of South Carolina. In 1972 he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Specialist 5. He enjoyed watching all sports with the Gamecocks and N.Y. Yankees being his favorite teams. He was a member of Mid Carolina Club and looked forward to the annual golf trips to the beach. He met his special buddies Curtis and Tommy every morning for coffee to discuss national issues and sports. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Leslie Gray Wyatt, who adored him, brother-in-law, Billy Simmons, nephew Scott Simmons, niece Katie and husband Eric Wieberg. Father and mother-in-law John and Joan Gray, Brothers-in-law John Jr and Jim Gray, niece Jennifer Gray and husband Joe Knox and nephew John Riley Gray, 2 great nephews and 2 great nieces. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Notie Nash, sister Jackie Simmons, brothers Scotty and Michael Wyatt, sister-in-law LeAnne Gray. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Limestone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jon Van Deventer and Rev. Nathan Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church parlor. Arrangements by Woodbridge Funeral Home
