In March of 1951, she married Kenneth Hayes and was a farm wife who did it all! Phyllis was a member of both Converse Church of Christ and Senior Saints, as well as the Eastern Star and Converse Library Board. Phyllis also enjoyed attending concerts with her friends and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Dianna (Steve) Hale, Venice, Florida, Jay (Cindy) Hayes, Amboy, and JoAnn Hayes, Peru; six grandchildren, Jason Hayes, Jenna Belcher, Ryan Hale, David Hale, Darren Hale, and Lucas Hayes; nephews, Jim Watson, Jeff Spencer, Gary Miller, and John Miller; and nieces, Suzie Tyo and Sue Burnham.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joel Hayes; brother, James Watson; and sister, Lois Brough.
