Mr. Phillips was born March 26, 1956. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Bell; brothers Steven Phillips and Michael Phillips.
Survivors include his daughters Melissa Endrizzi and Anna Symonds; son Matthew Phillips; sister Debra Phillips; and numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service and burial will be held at noon Wednesday, April 5 at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
Mr. Phillips was full of fun and laughter with a personality and smile that was contagious. With no formal education, things he learned he never forgot. His talent and passion for building was extraordinary. We will always remember you, Dad, because there will never be another one to replace you. Your time on earth was short. You will continue to live in the hearts of those you touched, for nothing loved is ever lost.
