Irma Pauline Cox, age 82 of Daniels, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, after a long illness.

Mrs. Cox was born in Beckley, and was the daughter of the late Austin Jeter Justice Sr. (1901-1969) and Lena Edna Wood-Justice-Gwinn (1908-Deceased).

Mrs. Cox was a homemaker, and had centered her life around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included artistic oil painting, loved all cats, and doing for others. She was a 1947 graduate of Shady Spring High School.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Austin Jeter Justice Sr. (Deceased), and Lena Wood-Justice-Gwinn (Deceased), and by a brother, Austin Jeter Justice Jr. (1925-Deceased).

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years; Dalmus James Cox (B. 1926) whom she married on October 18, 1947 in Ghent, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1947, Page 488, Application Date: October 14, 1947); two children, Ronald Cox and his wife Veronica Cox of King George, VA, and Sandra "Sandie" Lynn Cox-Lilly (1956-2017) and her husband Charles Lilly of Daniels; three grandchildren, Stefani Lilly-Young and her husband George Young of Charleston, WV, Christopher Cox of King George, VA, and Heather Steelman and her husband Luke of Fredericksburg, VA; seven great-grandchildren, Kirsten Clark-Byard and Kaylee Byard, both of Abilene, TX, Jacob Briers Young and Cierra Young of Charleston, MacKenzie Cox, Ella Cox, and Montgomery Cox, all of King George, VA; a brother, Wayne Wright Justice (B. 1932) and his wife Juanita Morgan-Justice (B. 1934) of Vero Beach, FL, and a special family member Kenya Clark-Byard of Abilene, TX is also among her survivors.

Funeral services will be conducted to celebrate The Life of Irma Cox on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Delmas Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
