Al Sheehy, age 88, lifetime Reedsville area resident, died Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

Al was born July 11, 1925 in the town of Franklin to the late John and Frances (Kunesh) Sheehy. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic School in Maple Grove through grade 10, and graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of 1943. He was united in marriage to Joanne Krall on June 10, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. The couple was blessed with three children.

Al was a long time member of St. Patrick's Parish in Maple Grove until the merger with Holy Family Parish in Brillion. He served on St. Patrick's Parish Council and had been a member of the Holy Name Society. He worked as a volunteer in maintaining the up keep of the St. Patrick's Cemetery for many years. He received the St. Patrick's Parish appreciation award in 1995.

Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus; Friends of St. Patrick's; and a life member of the Reedsville Sportsman's Club. He retired as a senior damage appraiser with American Family Insurance in 1991. Al loved being with his family and friends; and very much enjoyed the simple things in life.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne; his daughter & son-in-law, Debra and Donald Marsicek; son-in-law, Robert Denor; daughter-in-law, Cheri (Jon) Reavis; six grandchildren: Matt Sheehy, Kristen (Pat) Fay, Dana (Peter) Redfield, Shaun (Sara) Denor, Erin (RJ) Mader, Meagan (Mark) Kiesow; and four great grandchildren: Carter & Lucas Fay, and Naavah & Hans Redfield. He is further survived by a brother & sister-in-law, Robert (Alice) Sheehy; four sisters-in-law, Darlene Sheehy, Joan Sheehy, Carole (Larry) Salutz, and Jackie (Marvin) Brandl; seven god-children; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Sheehy; a daughter, Judith Denor; his son, Jon Sheehy; one sister & brother-in-law, Eileen (Charles) Bernier; two brothers, Harold & Patrick Sheehy; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ed and Rose Krall; and sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Beatrice Krall, Jenny (John) Fitzgerald, Audrey (Robert) Meissner, and Eugene Krall.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Rev. Timothy Brandt will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery at a later date.
