West Columbia - Services for Heyward A. Hulon, 74, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Platt Springs United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Mary Teasley and Rev. Thom Jones, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Platt Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund or the charity of one's choice. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. Hulon died Friday, January 28, 2000. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Jessie C. and Bessie Mae Grubber Hulon. He was a U. S. Army Veteran with service during World War II in Normandy, France and Central Europe and was retired from Discount Tire and Hulon's Esso. He was a member of Platt Springs United Methodist Church where he attended the Methodist Men's Class and served as former President. Mr. Hulon was predeceased by his sisters, Alice Nader and Mattie Griffin, and his brothers, Albert Hulon, Kenneth Hulon, Jessie Hulon, John Richard Hulon. Surviving are his wife, Clara Goldson Hulon of West Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Pamela Hulon Leclerc of Jonesboro, Ga.; sister, Lucille Erlon of Maryland; his brothers, Harry Hulon of Oregon, John Edwards Hulon of Gilbert, Willie Hulon of West Columbia; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Nicholas and Kimberly Leclerc; grandchildren, Lori Leclerc, Scott Leclerc. © The State, Columbia, SC
