Michael “Mike” Lynn Livingston, 70, of Winnebago passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in his home. Born September 16, 1946 in Rockford the son of Hollis A. and Ruth E. (Covert) Livingston. Graduated from Auburn High School in 1965. Mike married Sandra Kay Ferdinand on November 18, 1967 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. He worked in material handling for Amerock Corporation in Rockford for 32 years at the South Main St. location. Mike was a Cubs, Bears, Notre Dame and Winnebago sports fan. Mike most enjoyed spending time at home with his family and especially his grandchildren. Mike’s favorite saying was Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers.…
Mike is lovingly survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandy Livingston of Winnebago; daughters, Kimberly (Shawn) Ponds of Columbia, TN, Kristine (Tim) Canter of Winnebago; Papaw’s grandkids, Zachary Fiorenza, Olivia Fiorenza, Kyra Ponds, Mallory Canter; great-granddaughter, Harper Fiorenza; brother, Holly (Joann) Livingston of Rockford, sisters, Patty Meiers of Machesney Park, Joan Schwanke of Rockford; several nephews and nieces.
Mike is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Patrick Livingston, Ronald Livingston, Leon Livingston; sister, Bernice “Toots” Lindgren.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with Pastor Tim Spickler of New Life Bible Church near Winnebago officiating. Interment at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
