MARTIN, Verna J. 88, of Brookville, passed away on April 4, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 29, 1928 to the late Ellis and Elsie (Zickafoose) Magill in St. Paris, OH.

Verna worked as a Dietician for Brown VA Hospital in Dayton, OH. On July 30, 1949, she married Cledus Martin at the VA Chapel and lived in Dayton, OH and then moved to Brookville, OH. She was a member of the Dixie Pathfinders Camp Club and the Grand Squares square dancing club in Englewood.

Verna is survived by her loving daughters, Bonnie Shannon-Izor (Randal) and Debbie Millikin (Donald); 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Millie, Edna, Gladys, and Margie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cledus Martin; granddaughter, Heather Shaner, and great granddaughter, Corra Jean Millikin.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Valley View Memorial Garden's chapel, Xenia. A service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Bowman officiating.
