Katherine Rose Peterson, 83, of Edelstein, passed away at 12:07 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Manor Court at Liberty Village in Peoria.

Katherine was born on December 17, 1933 in Princeville, the daughter of George and Clara (Streitmatter) Berchtold. She married Leonard Eugene Peterson on October 6, 1950 in Lacon. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1989.

Surviving are three sons, Gary (Marsha) of Princeville, Brad (Rose) of Edelstein, and Greg (Diane) Peterson of Dunlap; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Jo Ann (Raymond) Rumbold of Lafayette; and one brother, LaVerne Berchtold of Princeville. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon and Pamela Sue Peterson.

Katherine was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker, who enjoyed farm life, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Streitmatter Cemetery in Princeville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Hospice.
