Jose T. Pacheco, age 82, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Alexandrina (Barbosa) Pacheco. Born on the island of Sao Miguel, in the Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Moniz Pacheco and the late Beatriz Tavares Rebelo. As a naturalized citizen of the United Stated, he emigrated from the Azores to Fall River in 1979 with his wife and young children. A veteran of the Portuguese Army, Mr. Pacheco was the proprietor of the former Pacheco’s Mini-Mart on Plymouth Avenue in Fall River. He was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.

He was the loving husband of Alexandrina for 58 years with whom he raised a family of 10 children. He is survived by his wife and children: Jose Antonio Pacheco of Dartmouth, Emanuel B. Pacheco of Westport, Rita P. Mendonca of Fall River, Beatrice P. Medeiros of Fall River, Luis C. Pacheco of Dartmouth, Paul J. Pacheco of Westport, Gloria M. Pacheco of Fall River, Maria P. Rumsey of Fall River and Rui B. Pacheco of Fall River. He is also survived by two sisters: Beatriz Vieira and Conceicao Anselmo, both of Fall River, and two brothers: Manuel Pacheco of Fall River and Jacinto Pacheco of Swansea, and many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Decio B. Pacheco and the brother of the late Maria Rosa Pacheco.

Mr. Pacheco’s funeral services will commence with visitation at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, located at 730 Bedford Street in Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Cross Church, located at 47 Pulaski Street in Fall River. After Mass, there will be a funeral procession to his final resting place at the Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River MA.
