Obituary:
William F. Buettner, 91, of Belleville, Ill., born Oct. 22, 1915, in Shiloh Valley Township, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Buettner was a retired corporal with Illinois State Police with 26 years of service. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 41, Illinois Police Association, a veteran of World War II Army Air Corp., VFW 1739, Democrat Precinct Committeeman Belleville Ward 1 Precinct 1 for years. William after his retirement worked as a deputy clerk at the St. Clair County Clerks Office.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, nee Frankovich, Buettner; his parents, Max and Agnes, nee Wiedman, Buettner; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his sons, Mark (Debbie) Buettner of Chesterfield, Mo., Michael (Nataline) Buettner of Belleville, Ill., and David (Colleen) Buettner of Wildwood, Mo.; and his grandchildren, Lauren Buettner, Adam Buettner, Samatha Buettner, Kimberly Buettner and Alexandria Buettner.

Funeral: Private graveside service will be held at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
