Richard "Rick" Louie Nobles, 64, of McAlester, died Monday, April 3, 2017, at his residence. Rick was born to L.O. and Hazel Nobles on March 25, 1953, in McAlester. He graduated from Savanna High School in 1971 and then attended Connors State College. He married Edna Brown on Jan. 28, 1975, in Hugo. Rick worked over 25 years for UPS in McAlester before retiring. He had served a term on the Frink School board and served on the District No. 5 water board. Rick was a member of New Haven Bible Baptist Church in Krebs. He enjoyed cattle and horses.
Rick is survived by his wife, Edna, of the home; son, Robert Nobles and wife, Sue, of McAlester; daughters, Jamie Gallaher, of Ada, and Becky Osbourne and husband, Chris, of Haileyville; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gallaher, of Ada, and Breanna Fry, of Blanco; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Laverne Tinker, of Henderson, Nevada, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.O. and Hazel Nobles. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Willie Virden and the Rev. Jason Dunn. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Deweese, Terry Miller, Gary Navel, Bill Anderson, Hugh Hardin and Sammy Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Williamson, Wayne Deweese, Eddie Deweese and Terry Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of McAlester, P.O. Box 1333, McAlester, OK, 74502.
