Worcester (Wooster) Holcomb, aged seventy-five years, was found dead in bed Monday morning having retired in his usual condition of health Sunday evening. The doctor gave it as his opinion that he had expired immediately after retiring. He had been in rather poor health for quite sometime.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon with services at the house, conducted by Revs. Edward and Peter Doherty, and burial in the Mazonmanie Cemetery.

Deceased was a bachelor and lived with his sister Lulu in his last few years. He is survived by five brothers and three sisters; John E. of Randolph, S.D.; George of Washington D.C.; Ernest of Minneapolis, Minn.; Willis D. and Frank C. of Mazomanie, Wisc.; Mrs. Florence E. Blake of Millette, S.D.; Mrs. Jeaneatte "Nettie" E. Coutts of Mankato, Minn.; and Mis Lulu I. who resided with her brother. All, with the exception of the two sisters residing in the west, were present at the funeral, also Mrs. John Holcomb, and a nephew, Virgil Holcomb and his wife.

His sister, Miss Lulu Holcomb, stated that Wooster was born 26 Feb. 1856 in Walworth County, Wisconsin, and died on 20 August 1928 in Arena, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Cause of death is apoplexy with contributory cause of arteriosclerosis. His father was David Holcomb, born in New York and mother was Ann Appleby Holcomb, born in Utica, New York. Wooster came to this vicinity in early boyhood where he spent the greater part of his life. He lived with his sister Lulu who continued to live on the old home place after her parents died. Burial is in the Mazomanie Cemetery on 23 August 1928.
