Joanne Kramer passed from this life on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House in Austin, Texas, after battling a long illness and surviving many obstacles. Joanne was born in 1935 in Mattoon, Illinois, to Bud and Mary Ellen Nunamaker. She was raised by her grandmother, Harriett Bonnell after the sudden death of her mother soon after child birth. Joanne’s half-brother Kent Nunamaker passed away in 2007.
Joanne’s husband Max Kramer, preceded her in death in 2004. Joanne loved and enjoyed being part of the large Kramer family. She is survived by one sister-in-law Louise Kramer of Mattoon, Illinois, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Joanne moved to Austin, Texas, in 1999, after Max’s retirement.
Joanne is survived by son, Alan Kramer and wife Julie Torstad in Plano, Texas; son Andy Kramer and wife Grace In Austin, Texas; daughter, JoDee Kramer and her husband Cal Westendorf in Austin, Texas; son Marc Kramer and daughter Julie Kramer in Mattoon, Illinois. Grandchildren are Marcus Kramer (Jennifer Romero), Deer Park, Texas; Casey Bustamonte (Wayne), El Campo, Texas; Matthew Kramer (Courtney), Amberlee Kramer and Jessica Kramer, Mattoon, Illinois. Joanne has 14 great grandchildren.
Joanne was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family very much. She was an active member of Decker United Methodist Church. Joanne will be very missed and never forgotten by all who knew her. All whose hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ will most certainly see her again.
A memorial service will be held at Decker United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 15, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Christopher House, by mail at 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd, Ste 100, Austin, TX. 78749 or by phone at 512-342-4700 or 800-445-3261, or Decker United Methodist Church, 8304 Decker Lane, Austin, Texas 78724.
