A Homegoing service for Robbie Johnson will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 in the First United Pentecostal Church in Oakdale with Reverend Timothy Kelley officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.

Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Robbie, 77, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born December 26, 1939 in Pineville to George Johnson and Edith (Giles) Johnson.

He was a Pentecostal by Faith and member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Oakdale. Robbie served his country proudly in the United States Navy, serving in the Korea Conflict.

He loved gardening, fishing, spending time with his family, and spoiling all his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Johnson and Edith Johnson; his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Ann Johnson; and daughter, Beverly Ann Johnson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: two sons, Kenneth Johnson of Oberlin and David Clinton (Amanda) Johnson of Magazine, Arkansas; four daughters, Lillian Green of Oakdale, Brenda (Richie) Cook of Mittie, Loretta (Kennis) Jones of Oakdale, and Bridgette Ann (Clinton) Perkins of Oakdale; one brother, Wayne Johnson; two sisters, Gloria Jean Johnson and Nolo Faye Perkins; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Kenneth Johnson, David Johnson, John Taylor, Kennis Jones, Joshua Cook, and Jessie Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Richie Cook, Clinton Perkins, Johnnie Johnson, and Floyd Perkins.

Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel today, April 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the church.

The family wishes to send a Special Thank You to: Heart of Hospice both the Alexandria and Lake Charles branches for the care given during this time.
