FELICIA PEPPERS YOUNG, 65 died Saturday November 9th, 2013 following an epic 18 year battle with cancer.

She was born on January 26, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, educated at John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Northwestern University and Miami University from which she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. She was a long time financial officer at Evergreen/United Nations Insurance Company and its predecessors and affiliates. She was also a long time resident of Carrollton Condominiums in Rocky River.

Felicia was a loving person who made time for family and friends no matter how pressing her other responsibilities and would routinely drop everything to lend a hand, or even take charge, when a crisis occurred in someone's life, her own disease notwithstanding. Her laser focus was always on that which she could contribute in her own thorough and precise manner rather than on that to which she might be entitled. She touched many, many lives and rarely did she touch the life of a person who was not better for it.

Felicia had high expectations for those she loved, and although she did not suffer fools gladly, as those who received a gentle or not so gentle rebuke could testify, her desire was always for a person to aim high, succeed and to realize the satisfaction of making a valuable contribution. We will all miss her dearly.

Felicia was predeceased by her father Jerry, mother Katherine, and her brother Henry and is survived by her brother Jerry (Sue) of Scarsdale, NY, sister-in law Sandy of Rolling Meadows, IL., nephew and nieces Nicholas (Laura), of St. Charles, IL, Cathy of Idaho Falls, ID,Bonnie (Mark) of Rolling Meadows, IL., Amy of New York, NY.,Erica of New York, NY.,Christina of New York, NY., and Michele of New York, NY.,great nephews and nieces Matthew of Lincoln, NE.,Daniel of Wooster, OH, Henry of Deland, FL., and Gina of Rolling Meadows, IL.

She is also survived by her ex-husband J. Alan Young, confidant and cousin Joseph A. Lo Conti, many beloved cousins, colleagues, neighbors and many, many dear friends.

There will be an memorial service and reception to celebrate Felicia's life 12:30pm on Friday, November 22nd at Landerhaven, 6111 Landaerhaven Drive, Mayfield Heights, OH., 44124. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jimmy Malone Education Scholarship Fund, College Now G.C., 50 Public Square #1800, Cleveland, Ohio 44113, attention Jimmy Malone (checks should be drawn to College Now GC/Malone Scholarship and should note Felicia's name.) Arrangements entrusted to CATAVOLOS-BERRY FUNERAL HOME, Westlake, OH.
