Franklin F. Carr, age 83, formerly of Uncapher Ave., Marion, died on Monday morning, March 27, 2006, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Marion County, Ohio, on September 3, 1922, the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (Schaber) Carr.

On May 27, 1944, Franklin married his loving wife of 62 years Naomi (Landon) Carr in Marion, where she survives.

Franklin worked in the foundry department for the Marion Power Shovel Company.

He was a member of the Swamp Fox Camping Club and the Star Gazers Camping Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons David (Marsha) Carr, Dale (Barbara) Carr, Gerald (Jamie) Carr all of Marion; three daughters Carol (D. Larry) Craig of Cosby, Tennessee, Brenda (Richard) Davis, and Kathy (Anthony) Long both of Marion; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; four brothers Daniel Carr of Marion, Richard (Kate) Carr of Ladson, South Carolina, Roger (Nancy) Carr of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Floyd (Bonnie) Carr of Indian Lake; two sisters Donna (Virgil) Blair of Espyville, Ohio, and Lois (Robert) Kisor of Mansfield, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Carr; and two sisters Thelma Hogan and Edris Spencer.
