Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Florence Lucas, a pioneer of Grand Prairie, were held Sunday afternoon in the First Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lucas, widow of the late Henry Lucas, passed away Saturday afternoon in a Dallas hospital. Mr. Lucas preceded his wife in death, passing away in 1949.

Born Aug. 10, 1875, Mrs. Lucas was a life-long resident of Dallas County. She married Mr. Lucas Oct. 18, 1895 in Dallas County. Soon after their marriage the couple moved to Grand Prairie. The couple resided at 118 East Church Street for many years.

During his lifetime, Mr. Lucas was a grocery store operator and automobile salesman here.

Mrs. Lucas was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eunice Harries, Miss Louise Lucas, Miss Marietta Lucas, all of Grand Prairie and Mrs. Hugh Hall of El Paso; two sons, Reed Lucas of Baytown and Gus Lucas of Dallas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rev. Floyd A. Bolware, Pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated at the services. He was assisted by Rev. E. B. Jackson, Assistant Pastor.

Burial, under direction of the Moore Funeral Home was made in the Southland Memorial Park.
