MUNCIE--Daniel Jay Ledbetter, 74, of Muncie, IN, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at his residence.
Daniel was born on July 21, 1934 in Dunkirk, IN, the son of Ralph R. and Blanche (Bell) Ledbetter. He graduated from I.P. Grey in Jay County, IN.
Daniel was employed by General Motors, Fisher body Division, in Marion, IN, and retired in 1987 after 30 years of working in production and welding. He was also a member of the Local UAW 977. Daniel was also an avid traveler.
Surviving relatives include one son, Rodney A. Ledbetter (wife: Tamera) of Kokomo, IN; one daughter, Kathryn M. Hartley (husband: Nicholas) of Spring Hill, TN; one brother, Donald P. Ledbetter of Anderson, IN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Daniel also cared for very special friend, Eileen Brown, of Muncie, IN.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Reverend Steve DeLisle will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
