Funeral will be at St. James Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, for Michele Aurora Reynolds, 71, who died on March 3, 2014. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.

Michele Reynolds' life defied all odds. She was a wife, mother of four children with six grandchildren. She was swept away from her family in California to move to her husband's hometown of Gadsden, Ala., in the mid-1960s and called it home until she was awarded the life of Eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ. Michele was a devout Catholic who never missed Mass and was a faithful disciple of St. James Catholic Church from the time she rolled into town nearly 50 years ago.

She was widowed at 40 with three teens to raise on her own. She had the first of two kidney transplants in 1973. She lived a full productive life, never giving up, and bouncing back from incredible personal tragedies to medical miracles of survival that can only be described as such. Her four children have grown and become happy successful individuals who can cope with many situations, thanks to Michele's ability to laugh in the darkest moments, even at herself. She is greatly missed by all of her family, who will be seeing her again in Heaven one day.

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald H. Reynolds.

She is survived by her four children, Suzanne (Jeff) Powell, John (Traci) Reynolds, Kathy McIntyre and Scott (Melissa) Reynolds; six grandchildren, Kristin, Justin, Kyla, Hartley, Olivia and Molly; four brothers, Mark, Greg, Tony and Joel Catrambone; sister, Kathy Farrand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
