On Monday, February 16, 1919 in Crawford, Mississippi, our Lord and Savior blessed Sammie and Maggie Houston Blair with the birth of their third child, Annie Lou Blair, affectionately known as “Mama Tee,” and friends as “Annie Lou.”

As a child, Annie was very active, competitive, and loved life. She often spoke fondly of her childhood activities, riding horses and playing ball with her brother, Sam “Bo” Blair, and sister, Flora Blair Brooks and childhood friends to include her future husband, Charlie “Glossy” Williams.

She professed her belief and faith in our Lord and Savior at the early age of eight and joined Charity Missionary Baptist Church in Crawford, Mississippi under the leadership of Reverend Philip Green. She would proudly testify to her children and anyone who would listen, “It was one Thursday evening when the Lord appeared to me and said, ‘Follow me, for I am the Truth and the Light’.” Since that day, she continued to be faithful to her commitment as a loyal servant of our Lord. After moving to Columbus, Annie and her family first lived in the Southside Community before moving to the Northside Community during the 1950s. There she united in fellowship with the Northside Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her death. She was active in church serving as a missionary, but most especially, she loved her role as an usher.

On December 26, 1936, Annie married her beloved childhood friend and sweetheart, Charlie (Glossy) Williams, and to this union, eight children were born. Their first child, a son, Willie James, died early in life. Shortly thereafter, other sons and daughters were born including: Robert, Margret “Maggie,” Albert (Al), Earnestine (Tina), Charles “Charlie Jr.,” Helen “Helene,” and Sammie “Sam.”

Annie's journey in this life came to an end Monday, December 24, 2001 at 4:10 AM following a lengthy illness. She leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, and their wives, Robert and Alma of Dayton, OH; Albert and Joanne of Dayton; Charles and Hilda of Memphis, TN; and Sammie and Sandra of Columbus, MS; three daughters and their husbands, Margaret and Freddie Westbrook of Ft.
