Bobby Wayne Gist, 57 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in his home. He was a Church of Christ preacher; he was a shift lead at Walgreens in Fort Smith at the time of his passing; he received his Bachelor Degree from Northeastern State University Tahlequah, Oklahoma also with a degree in Ministry.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with cremation to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Robin (Kurth) Gist of the Home; six daughters, Lauren Rice and husband, Chase, Kathryn Sizemore and husband, Christian, Brittain Gist all of Sallisaw; Jordan Walker and husband, Jeff of Stigler, Shannon Morters of Fort Smith, Katelyn Jones and husband, Casey of Van Buren; one son, Kyle Maslakow and wife, Kristin of Shady Point; his mother, Jo Ann (Gaskins) Gist of Spiro; four grandchildren, Jolee, Avery, Ashlyn and Hunter.
