Raymond was born June 12, 1939 in Lodi, WI to Ross and Dorothy (Gehres) Gilbert. Raymond proudly served in the US Army. After returning from the US Army, Raymond worked at Pope & Talbot in Eau Claire, for 33 years before retiring in 2001.

Upon retiring Pete found a summer home in Woodruff, WI at Hiawatha Trailer Resort with his wife, Marilynn. His love of fishing kept him busy on nice days and on rainy days you could find him playing cards with family or some of his many great friends or sitting in his recliner reading a good western. The winters he would keep busy much the same way at his home in Osseo, except that he would be impatiently waiting for spring to arrive.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ross and Dorothy; Sisters: Roberta Lemke and Katie Andrea: and grandpuppy Sammy.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at http://www.cremationsociety-wi.com.
