Born March 30, 1930, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Doan S. and Agnes L. (Barlow) Williams. She married Lee A. Thompson on April 1, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2016.
She was a cosmetologist and owned a beauty shop in Williams and the Rocking Place Gift Shop and Touch of Tiffany Tea House. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed making stained glass.
She was influential in Southern Indiana Neuropathy Group. The family enjoyed early years of camping with the Night Owls and the Air Stream International Group.
Survivors include a son, Brian L. Thompson and wife Kathy of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Thompson of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Shannon Minshall and husband James Anthony, Sarah Burk, Stuart Thompson, Brandon Thompson and wife Vicky and Leslie Pemberton and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Sherissa, Elise, and Loralai Minshall, Braden, Lucas, Ty Paul, and Dani Lynn Thompson, Aiden, Mayah, Addalyn, and Nyah Pemberton; two brothers, Gerald Williams of Mitchell and Bill Williams of Bedford; and a sister, Loeda Mundy of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Brad Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m on Thursday, Dec. 29, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Michelle White officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
