Walter E Ross, 78, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 31, 2017. Walter was born in in Hornbeck, LA to Charley E. Ross and Bessie M. Ross on November 30, 1938. Services will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10am. Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 3, 2017. Officiating will be John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church.

Walter retired after 33 years from the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant in Minden, LA as the Maintenance Supervisor in 1995. He was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School in 1957. As a Veteran, Walter served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1955 Walter moved from Hornbeck to Shreveport where he met the love of his life, Margaret Ware. They were married 52 years and together raised 4 children. Walter was proud of his family and the life he built. He worked hard and always provided whatever was needed. Walter loved hunting and fishing with the boys and teaching cooking to his granddaughters.

Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret W. Ross, parents Charley E. Ross and Bessie M. Ross, one sister, Geraldine Ross. He is survived by one brother David Ross and wife Brenda, two sisters; Joyce Bott and Shirley Oxley, sons, Richard M. Ross and wife Betty, Randal E. Ross and wife Roxanne, Robert D. Ross and wife Tricia, daughter Rhonda Ross Potter. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Honoring Walter as Pallbearers will be: Mark Ross, Joshua Ross, Steve Shockley, Jacob Sabren, Michael Ross and Charles Taylor Honorary Pallbearers: John Warren Jr. and Arthur James.
