He was born Feb. 12, 1920, to Robert and Mildred (McMillan) Dally. Eugene married Lottice Lavana Brown March 4, 1944, in Hernando, Miss. He was a decorated solider, including a Bronze Star. Eugene's hobbies included hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. Being raised during the depression helped shape his character into the man he became. Keeping with Eugene's request, his body was donated to the UW-Madison Body Donation Program to further education and research.
He is survived by four daughters, Judy (Toby) Ginder of Madison, Wis., Wanda (Joe) Pineau of Colorado Springs, Colo., Cindy Calogero of La Crosse, and Sandy (Gary) Luepke of Holmen; six grandchildren, Dawn (Mark) Ceja, Jered Johnson, Eric (Sutra) Ginder, Erin (Marty) Mathias, Jenny (Gavin) Brownell and Ryan (Kelly) Luepke; eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Sara, Araceli, Ellie, Scarlet, Ryker and Lilly; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Lavana Dally; two brothers, Ardell Dally and Delbert Dally; son-in-law, Lou Calogero; and a great-grandson, Weston Brownell.
Eugene had requested that there not be any services and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
