DEATH NOTICE - JOHN ZAPPONE
SCOTTDALE, August 19, 1949 - John Joseph "Jack" Zappone, formerly of Latrobe, Pennsylvania and a brother Mrs. Theresa Dellavecchio of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Tuesday night, August 9, 1949 of a heart attack in Lewistown, Montana.
He was a state deputy of the Knights of Columbus and Chairman of the A. A. U. Boxing Commission of the northwest region of the U. S. A.
He leaves his widow Marie B. (nee Leiter) Zappone, eight children, two sisters and one brother.

Zappone Rites Slated

LEWISTOWN - Transferal services for J. J. Zappone are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday from Creel's Chapel to St. Leo's Church.
Rosary will be said at St. Leo's Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral services and solemn requiem high mass are scheduled for 10:30 Saturday morning at St. Leo's Church.

DEATH NOTE
DIES - John Joseph "Jack" Zappone, 61, Lewistown, prominent Knight of Columbus and Chairman of the Fergus County Democratic Central Committee, died of a heart attack ailment Tuesday night, August 9, 1949, Coroner E. R. Judd told the Associated Press.
Zappone came to Montana from Latrobe, Pennsylvania about 25 years ago. Jack was born near Latrobe in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to the late Angelo and Marie Zappone. Survivors include his widow and eight children.

Lewistown, November 13, 1917 - John Joseph Zappone, one of the most popular young business men of the city, and Miss Marie Leiter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Leiter of the Arro, were married yesterday, November 11, 1917 and are now on their way to Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Mr. Zappone's old home, where they will visit for some time.
