Daughter of Capt. William Beale and Ann Harwar. She was born at the Chestnut Hill Plantation, Farnham Richmond County, Virginia, purchased by her grandfather Thomas Beale III (1675-1729).

Married Robert Wormeley Carter of "Sabine", Warsaw, Richmond County, VA., in 1756.

While living in Sabine Hall in the company of her father-in-law, Col. Landon Carter, he was repeatedly verbally abusive of her sleeping late and her excessive eating. He regretted having Beale blood in his grandchildren, as well as referring to his eldest son Robert Wormeley Carter as not having any of his traits. Her relationship with her husband was difficult for her to deal with as it seemed seldom he came into her chamber and she felt was only with the intent to have another child.
