Curtis Delane Richards, 76, of Washington, WV, passed away peacefully at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg on March 31, 2017.

He was born in Doddridge County, WV September 26, 1940, a son of the late Okey Richards and Luella Jane (Norman) Richards.

Curtis served in The US Army, was a licensed barber, and retired from the City of Parkersburg where he served as chief operator of the water treatment plant. He loved to work on old four-wheel drive truck and he loved the outdoors including, gardening, cutting firewood, camping. Most of all Curtis loved to spoil his grandchildren, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Earlene (Tuttle) Richards of Washington, WV, son Jeffery D. Richards of Washington, WV, daughter, Sherry Anne Bell & (Jeff) of Parkersburg, brother, Russell Richards of Parkersburg, sister, Margaret Boggs of Parkersburg, six grandchildren, Patrick Richards, Megan Hagans, Dustin Bell, Tori Bell, Jeffery Caleb Richards, and Emily Richards, four great grandchildren, Skylar Simons, Abbygail Simons, Ivy Bell, and Jayden Hagans, several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Virgil Tuttle of Washington, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Chester, Herbert, Howard and Albert Richards, two sisters, Gerry Byers and Doris Thomas.

Services will be Tuesday 1:00 PM at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Ron Hindershot officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
