Wilbur Freeman Mott, 85, of Callahan, died Monday, April 29, 2002 after a brief illness.

Funeral services and interment were held at Live Oak Baptist Church on April 30, with the Reverend Steve Wolgamott officiating and the Reverend Ray Turner assisting.

Mr. Mott was an active church member for over 25 years. He was born in Starke on January 30, 1917, moved to Jacksonville and lived most of his life in Callahan.

In his early years, Mr. Mott was a farmer and cattle rancher in Duval and Nassau Counties. He retired from Container Corporation of America in 1979 after 30 years in the timber department.

Mr. Mott was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Friscus Mott and Annie Eleanor McGlew Mott.

Two brothers, Samuel Lee and Paul Edward; four sisters, Eleanor Broderick Fugate, Winifred Langiotti, Annie Louise Ageman and Dorothy Virginia Smith; one niece, Anne Langiotti Volkman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eunice Lee Armstrong Mott; one daughter and son-in-law, Martha Nell and Gaston Rowe; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul Freeman and Carole Bailey Mott; five grandchildren and their spouses, and four great- grandchildren,
