1942 - 2016 Obituary Condolences Flowers
Myron Lee Ehlert, a true gentleman, passed away quietly on December 13, 2016. He was born May 13, 1942, to George Ehlert and Alvina Carstead [at the home farm in Red Springs,] Wisconsin. He attended school at Cal State University Bakersfield, where he received his Master's degree. Myron was president of his class at Tigerton High School in [Tigerton,] Wisconsin and received many medals as a team member of the men's basketball team. He fathered two beautiful children, Tina and Ryan Ehlert, and has fond memories of them. He chose the educational field and made teaching his career for several years. After retiring, he continued his passion as a substitute teacher. It was at Elida Aguirre's classroom where he substituted one day, and a beautiful love story blossomed. Elida later became his wife and had these thoughts to share about their life together:
"Rest in peace my Hunny Bunny, and sleep with the angels until we meet again in God's time. Your love for me was a life-saving salve on my wounds of sadness and depression. God gave you to me so He could show me how much He loved me. My broken heart will heal just knowing that you are resting in God's glory, with no more pain and suffering. You were such a truly good man, a humble man, and I was the lucky recipient of your heart. You knew how to treat a lady, a quality that is sometimes undervalued in this world. You showed me how to love with goodness and humility, and even how to die with the same quiet humility that you lived. God has taken you into His bosom; truly you were a good man. RIP my Baby Boy."
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings in Wisconsin. Myron is survived by his loving and nurturing wife, Elida; children, Tina (WI) [mother Lois Leonard] and Ryan (CA) [mother Julia (Gordon) Oliver # 80572662]; [sister Betty Kowalski; and brothers Sydney (Beatrice) Ehlert (IL) and George (Maxine) Ehlert (WI); extended family members, numerous friends and acquaintances. His gentleness and kindness will be truly missed.
A 2:00 p.m. chapel service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hoffmann Hospice House and ADAKC (Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County).
