Bernice Louise (Licklider) Braun, passed away on March 30, 2017 at Santa Marta, a retirement community in Olathe, KS. A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 3, 2017. Bernice was born in Owensville, MO on April 7, 1928 to parents Nora (Branson) and Lemuel Licklider. She graduated from Argentine High School and attended the Kansas City Art Institute. She was an artist for Hallmark Cards, Russell Stover Candies, and Potts-Turnbull Advertising Agency. Bernice was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter E.I. of Wichita, KS and Beta Sigmi Phi. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several groups. She and her husband, Don, and their three girls lived in LaGrange Park, IL for 18 years and returned to the Kansas City area to retire. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald K. Braun; daughter, Jan D. Braun; sister, Brenda Lee Licklider; sister, Shirley Tate, and brothers, Raymond and Elmer Licklider. She is survived by daughters, Karen (husband Mike) Johanning of Olathe, KS and Susan Warner of Spring Hill, KS; grandchildren, Heather Lee of Lenexa; Jason Lee of Chantilly, VA; Kristine Johanning of Bettendorf, IA; Sam Warner of Spring Hill, KS; Trevor (wife Wendy) Strong of Spring Hill, KS; and Justin Strong of Kansas City, MO. Survivors also include sisters, Ida Miller of Overland Park, KS; Linda (husband Bill) Johnson of Shawnee, KS; and Elizabeth (husband Mike) Cole of Shawnee, KS and three great-grandchildren.
