Edna Rhea Craddock Vaughn, passed away March 31, 2017 at Woodbury Health and Rehab. She was born to James Dallas and Lila Grace Clemmons Craddock on April 8, 1929 in Wilson County near Cainsville. Edna Rhea began first grade at Jackson Street School in Tullahoma. Other schools she attended in Shelbyville were East Side Grammar School, Bryant Street Junior High School and graduated from Bedford County Central High School in 1947. She attended Middle Tennessee State Teachers College in Murfreesboro and Library Science classes at Southern Baptist Convention Training Center in Nashville.

Edna Rhea was employed by Peoples National Bank and First Baptist Church while in Shelbyville. After moving to Murfreesboro in 1968, she was employed by First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro for 25 years until retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, where she worked with youth for 30 years and went on several mission trips with them. She also went on medical mission trips sponsored by First Baptist Church and was active in Woman's Missionary Union and Ida Read's Sunday School Class. Edna Rhea also worked in the library of First Baptist Church and was a deacon.

She was a member of Rutherford County Historical Society and Garden Lovers Club of Murfreesboro. Edna Rhea enjoyed gardening, working on family histories and quilting.

Edna Rhea was preceded in death by her parents, James Dallas and Lila Grace Craddock; husband, Charlie David Vaughn, whom she married November 7, 1952 and died in 1985; and sister, Nancy Evelyn Jackson. She is survived by sons, James David (Dixie) Vaughn of Lebanon, Charles Thomas "Buddy" (Betty) Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Michael Ray (Debbie) Vaughn of Woodbury; grandchildren, Sara (Al) Owens of Italy, Lindsay Olivia Vaughn of Smyrna, David Martin "Sonny Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Adam James Vaughn of Lebanon, Jason (Karla) Moore of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Samuel James Owens of Italy, Cooper James Moore of Murfreesboro, Elizabeth Rose Vaughn of Smyrna; brother, James Harrison Craddock of Austin, Texas, Sister, Judy (Raymond) McGregor of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Pat and Karen Paris and children, Jonathan, Elizabeth (Charlie) Runion, Benjamin (Caitlynn), and Mercedez Wilgus.

Burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
