Jean was born July 15, 1918, in Deming, New Mexico, to Pedro and Maria Garcia. Jean was raised in Big Spring by her godmother, Francisca Gomez, and her husband, S.A. Gomez. Jean and her husband, Lawrence Oliver, raised their family of five in Big Spring and Littlefield, Texas. She was employed as a Head Start Teacher’s Aide and also worked many years as a waitress in Big Spring. Her latest accomplishment was exhibiting and selling her still life drawings at The Art Forum Gallery of Waco.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Oliver; and her son, Thomas Lee Oliver.
She is survived by her four daughters, Jean Reboli and husband, Roy, of Waco, Diana Marquis and husband, Dave, of Dallas, Theresa Oliver Lauffer and husband, Mark, of Ft. Worth and Elaine Oliver Murphy and husband, Allan, of Big Spring; 12 grandchildren, Danielle, Francesca and Brienne Reboli; Noel and Dominique Navarrete; Robert Frierson; Sacha Warrum; Sterling and Lawrence Drinkard; Chad Statham; and Ian Whitcomb and Lacy Pollard. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, Thomas and Noah Reboli; Exene Vandenberg; Tyler, Caleb, Joshua, Alexia, and Bella Warrum; Abigail and Asher Frierson; and Archer and Sidney Pollard.
