Appomattox: Beverly Ann Bassett Hamilton Osborne, 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Norwalk, CT, May 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Genkerell Bassett. She was a 1958 graduate of Norwalk High School. In 1975, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Henry Hamilton. She moved to Virginia in 1978, and on May 7, 1983, she married Jesse Osborne in Appomattox. Following their marriage, they made their home in Appomattox, before retiring to Red House. Beverly was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, Unit #104, and was active in the community. She had courage, loyalty and will be sorely missed by all her family and friends. In addition to her devoted husband, Jessee she is survived by three sons, Kevin Hamilton of Clayton, NC, Keith Hamilton and wife, Kathleen of Appomattox, and Kyle Hamilton and wife, Christy of Smithfield, NC; a daughter, Stella Osborne of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Stephanie Hamilton, Christine Faith Hamilton, and Keith Hamilton, Jr. all of Appomattox and many more distant relatives. A funeral service in loving remembrance will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2007, in Evergreen Baptist Church by Dr. Chris King with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday from 7-8:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Honor Guard, Post #104, PO Box 584, Appomattox, VA 24522.
