Janis Arlene Cox, 64, of Wichita, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Via Christ-St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kan.
She was born on February 18, 1953 in Medicine Lodge, Kan., the daughter of Richard Lyman and Sarah (Waterman) Lyman. On December 24, 1995, she married Roger L. Cox in Medicine Lodge, Kan. He survives.
Janis was a School Administrator in Dodge City and Leavenworth the past ten years. She was a graduate of Medicine Lodge High School and Wichita State University. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Emporia State University and her Master's Degree from Kansas State University. She was Methodist by Faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Roger, are two daughters, Alicia Hemp of Milton, Wis. and daughter Faith Ginn and Staci Hallam of Columbia, Tenn. and daughter Madison McCord; one brother, Dean (Jean) Lyman of Sharon, Kan.; numerous sister-in-laws.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 3, 2017, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, Kan. with Pastor Paul Stephens officiating.
Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, Kan.
