Anchorage resident Juanita Lamar, 67, died of cancer Feb. 13 at her home. Burial was in Coffee Cemetery in Elizabethtown, Ill.
Mrs. Lamar was born April 11, 1925, in Elizabethtown. She came to Alaska in 1983 and worked at Montgomery Ward until 1986. From 1986 to 1992, Mrs. Lamar was a bookkeeper for Glacier Roofing, Inc. She enjoyed needlecrafts and gardening.
Mrs. Lamar is survived by her son, Roy of Rosiclare; her daughter, Sandra Rapp of Anchorage; her mother, Martha Hurford of Chicago; her brothers, Ben Hurford of Salem, Ill., Charles Hurford of Chicago, and Harve Hurford of Marion, Ill.; her sisters, Lawanda Volkert of Smyrna,
Tenn., Mabel Viscarra of Chicago, Dorothy Haynes of Mountain Home, Ark., and Linda Myers of Iuka, Ill.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Haynes Jr., Alfred Viscarra Jr., Jesse Hurford, Tammy Murford, Fred Volkert and Michael Hurford.
