Maurice joined the Navy in January 1945, immediately after graduating from Long Beach High School, Long Beach, Calif. While serving as Corpsman, he met and married another Corpsman, Frances Ann Reinhardt, in 1946.
Maurice attended University of Illinois, when it became necessary to assist his wife's father with his farming operation at Kinderhook. He continued the farming operation until he and his wife joined the Peace Corps, serving in Brazil. He served as an agricultural consultant in Ukraine for USAID. Maurice served his community as a member of numerous local and regional boards. Just for fun, he served as a Gentleman Host for various cruise lines.
Maurice is survived by his daughter, Anna Borrowman, of Kinderhook; his granddaughter, Kacie Borrowman, of Burbank, Calif.; his significant other, Alice Cripe, of Griggsville, Ill.; and one brother, Don Williamson, of Hammon, Okla.
A celebration of life will be observed Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m., at Sprague's Kinderhook Lodge.
