MORGANTON Billie Jo Ann Griffin Robinson, 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 25, 2017.

She was born in Guilford County to the late Joseph Luther Griffin and Mary Sechrest Griffin.

She married the late Dewey Ellis Robinson of High Point in April, 1949. Born in High Point she and her family moved to Morganton, in 1963.

She was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Billie lived her life sharing her Christian faith in her kindness, beautiful smile and sweet, loving spirit. Baptized at Church of Christ in High Point, she joined North Morganton Baptist Church Feb. 20, 1974.

The family would like to express their special thank you to her Morganton neighbors, Jean Allen and Diane Burleson and to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care in Valdese, and Heartland Hospice Care in Wake County.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dewey; son, Keith Allan Robinson; sisters, Louise Thompson and Madge Cook; and brothers, Ervin, Joseph and William Griffin.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Ellis Robinson of Valdese, Dale Griffin Robinson of Black Hawk, S.D.; daughter, Toni Robinson Speakman of Fuquay-Varina and fianc‚ Steve Lee of Clayton; sisters, Nancy Harris, Betty Yow; brother, James F. "Sonny" Griffin; grandchildren, Adam Robinson, Grandon Abee, Kurtis Robinson, David Robinson, Scot Kirby and wife, Melinda Hardee, Lauren Speakman, Leslie S. Allen and husband, Jason Allen; and great-granddaughters, Riley Allen and Amelia Hardee. She is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 1, in the Chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave. in High Point.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery High Point.
