Timothy Michael "Mike" Flynn, 63, of Maumee, OH passed away from a massive heart attack on Monday, April 30, 2012, at his residence. Mike was born on March 21, 1949, in Trenton, Michigan to Harry B. and Evelyn K. (Wilkins) Flynn. He grew up in White House, OH and graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1967. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army (1968-1972) during the Vietnam War, stationed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. While in the Army, Mike played basketball and baseball and was known as the "Flying Flynn." While living in DC, he also worked on Nixon's campaign staff as a night watchman during the Watergate Scandal. He graduated from Rockville Community College and then the University of Baltimore in 1974 with a B.S. in Criminology. Mike then moved to Blissfield, Michigan and worked with his father-in-law in the real estate business, where he would become the youngest person to generate over a million dollars in sales within a fiscal year in the state. He eventually founded and brokered his own business, Flynn Realty Company. Mike loved being with family and friends, and especially loved his grandchildren. He knew a million jokes, had an amazing memory for numbers, enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, and was a great listener. Mike is survived by his significant other, Linda Schmidt of Maumee; his daughters from his marriage to, Ruth (Sliker) Nine of Blissfield, MI, - Theresa (Eric) Gray of California, Colleen (Bruce) Earl of Florida; his grandchildren, Juliet and Wesley Gray, Aiden and Kaley Earl; brother, Jim (Donna) Flynn of Toledo, OH, and sister, Priscilla "Sally" Fosnaught of Chapel Hill, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry "Butch" Flynn, and granddaughter, Ginger Gray. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 12, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church,1520 Reynolds Rd, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
