Billie Warren Duke age 88, 401 Cantebury Lane Portland died early Thursday morning in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. He was born in Woodbury, TN. February 19, 1924 the son of Tommy and Sarah (Taylor) Duke. He was married November 6, 1943 to Wilma L. Brown who survives. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II. He had worked for Sheller Globe in Portland and the Jay County Highway Dept. as assistant superintendant. He was a member of the Jay Lodge #87 F. & A.M.

Surviving are his wife Wilma, one son Billy J. Duke of Rockville, IN. and one daughter Barbara Clear of Portland, Four brothers Neil Duke of Pennville, Herschel Duke of Pennville, Jewell Duke of Ft. Wayne and Jack Duke of Marion. Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren
Private family services will be held through the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to any Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
