Ronald L. Daugherty, 59, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Kathy A. (Schmuck) Daugherty to whom he was married for 35 years.
A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Kathy Harvey Nelson officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Born July 5, 1957 in York, a son of the late Richard and Anna Mae (Dehoff) Daugherty, he was a 1975 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. Ron retired from Harley Davidson, Inc., and currently was a bus driver for Reliance Bus Co. He enjoyed playing recreational volleyball in local leagues and in the Senior Games, spending time in his garden and being with his family. Ron was a skilled handyman who was generous with his time and well-liked by his friends and co-workers.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Daugherty is survived by two daughters, Krystle L. Daugherty and Stephanie M. Daugherty, both of Windsor; four brothers, Byron Daugherty of Red Lion, Pastor Gary Daugherty of Airville, Keith Daugherty and Richard Daugherty III, both of Red Lion; three sisters, Beverly Markey of Seven Valleys, Debra Krebs of Dallastown and Janice Daugherty of Red Lion; and his treasured feline friends, Columbus, Sookie and Dumplin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to donate blood to the American Red Cross or make a donation to your favorite charity in honor and memory of Ron.
