Charles C. Ludwig, 78, of 1538 N. 16th St., died early Thursday April 7, in St. Nicholas Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 18, 1898 in Stockbridge a son of Frank and Magdalena Roell Ludwig.
Sept. 18, 1932 he married Ida Stanisch in St. Paul Lutheran Church. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1973. Mr. Ludwig worked for the Wisconsin Public Service Corp. for 38 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the former Sportsmen Club and the WPSC Quarter Century Club and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mr. Ludwig is survived by his widow; one son, LeRoy of Mountain Home, Idaho; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Brack and Mrs. Loraine DeKarske, both of Sheboygan; four brothers, Otto and Fred of Chilton; Edmund of Brothertown and Andrew of Eagle River.
He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home, the Rev. Edwin C. Bek, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was in Wildwood cemetery.
