Emily A. Green, age 80, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at The Maples in Honea Path, SC.
Born in Britton’s Neck, SC, on November 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Corben Altman and the late Lucille Enzor Altman. For 59 years, she was the loving wife of Robert Eugene Green, until his passing in 2015. She was a member of John Francis Gray #219 Order of the Eastern Star. Emily was an amateur radio operator KQ4AT and an avid golfer. She also cherished her time with the Monday Evening Game Day Ladies. She was a beloved member of Asaville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Robert “Audie” Green (Jane); a daughter, Debbie Green Wright (Billy); a brother, Waitus Altman; two sisters, Esther Lee Parrott and Alice Tanner; six grandchildren, Austin and Carson Green, Crystal Moore (Randall), Allison Andrews, Jason and Seth Wright; and five great-grandchildren, Lance and Ryleigh Moore, Ashleigh McGill, and Landon and Logan Andrews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Dwain, Calvin, and Joe Altman; and a sister, Ruth Brown.
The funeral service will be held at Asaville Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Drew Martin and Reverend Harold Walters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church, on Wednesday, prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of The Maples for the loving care shown to Mrs. Green during her time there.
