Born in Taylors, SC, on September 5, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Anthony Stewart, Sr. and the late Miriam Beacham Stewart. She was a graduate of Mountain View High School and attended Holmes Bible College. She enjoyed many activities with her family and being a volunteer at AnMed Health.
Rowena was an active member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was known as a faithful prayer warrior and a choir member with a beautiful alto voice. She was an avid reader and faithfully read her Bible. Rowena was the dedicated wife of the late Reverend Zebulun D. Smith, Sr., with whom she was married to for 43 years until his death in 1989.
She is survived by her loving children, Zebulun D. Smith, Jr., Carole S. Lewis and her husband Greg, Daniel B. Smith and his wife Sara, and Amy S. Davis and her husband Gene; two sisters, Corrie S. Herndon and Geneelia S. Wellons; six grandchildren, Ashton and Amy Lewis, Taylor and Sterling Smith, Brenna King (Westleigh) and Blaire Webber (Daniel); and one expected great-granddaughter, Augusta Rose King.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Brent Lollis officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
