Ernest F. Weitkamp, 71, of York, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Lebanon. He was the husband of Mary Louise (Inners) Weitkamp. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversay Sept. 17.

The service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Heffner Funeral Home of York Inc., 1701 W. Market St., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Weitkamp was born in York. He was the son of the late Erney and Lillian (Butcher) Weitkamp.

He was employed for 29 years at Bi-Comp of York, retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, served in the European Theatre, and received the purple heart at the Battle of Normandie.

Mr. Weitkamp also is survived by two sons, Bradley D. Weitkamp and Robert A. Weitkamp, both of York; a daughter, Connie S. Weitkamp of York; a granddaughter; two brothers, Lester Weitkamp and William Weitkamp, both of York; and three sisters, Elsie Lehman, Annabelle Dubbs, and Yvonne Sauder, all of York.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Barry A. Falkenstine, pastor of Christian Life Church. 04-08-93
