Norman Edward Peters, 91, of Whiteland, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. He was born October 12, 1925 in Indianapolis, to Albert and Vera (Nicholas) Peters. He married Vivian Kidwell on January 20, 1951, in Greenwood, IN.

Norm worked as a supervisor at Indianapolis Works of Western Electric retiring July 12, 1985. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 1st Calvary Division, during WWII, in the Pacific theater. Norm was a member of Edgewood United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

He is survived by Vivian, his wife of 66 years, of Greenwood; two sons, Robert (Marie) Peters of Greenwood and John (Rebecca) Peters of Boggstown; a sister Harriet Allen of Indianapolis; a brother Alan (Joyce) Peters of Lebanon, four grandchildren, Douglas Peters, Leslie (Brian) Davis, Scott (Jill) Peters, Jeremy (Rachel) Peters; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia, Andelyn, Zack, Jaeden, Ross, Avery, Lauren and Isabel, and many nieces and nephews.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert (Pete) Peters.

A funeral service is being conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31. The family is hosting a visitation from 11:00 a.m., until the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Greenwood.

The family would like to thank Paradigm Hospice, The Hearth at Stones Crossing, and Aspen Trace rehabilitation for their care of our loved one during the past few months. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood United Methodist Church, 1820 E Epler Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
